## Where to look

Portfolio pages and job boards from:

- a16z
- Sequoia
- Founders Fund
- General Catalyst
- Lux Capital
- Khosla Ventures
- Conviction
- Lightspeed

Also search: `{fund name} portfolio jobs` or `{fund name} portfolio companies`.

## Filter for

- Early-stage technical companies (seed / Series A)
- AI, infra, devtools, robotics, simulation, scientific computing
- Companies with public technical work (blog, papers, demos)
- Small teams where a student builder might plausibly contribute

## Workflow

1. Browse portfolio list — filter by stage and category.
2. Open company site — evaluate technical ambition and novelty.
3. Score with **`profile/company-fit-rubric.md`**.
4. **`scripts/new_company.py`** for interesting targets.
5. Find reachable founder or engineer — **`scripts/new_contact.py`**.
6. Check portfolio job board or company careers — **`scripts/new_lead.py`** if role exists.

## Do not

- Chase big-name logos without technical fit
- Assume funded = interesting
- Skip company record and go straight to job posts
