## Where to look

- Recent seed rounds and Series A announcements
- "Emerged from stealth" posts
- Product Hunt launches
- Hacker News launch posts (`Show HN`, `Launch HN`)
- TechCrunch / The Information / company blogs (public announcements only)

## Filter for

- Technical product launches, not pure fundraising hype
- Teams building in AI, agents, robotics, simulation, infra, devtools
- Founders with visible technical background
- Companies where the problem sounds genuinely hard

## Workflow

1. Scan recent launch/funding news for candidate names.
2. Visit company site and founder profiles.
3. Score against rubric — note `stage` in company frontmatter when known.
4. **`scripts/new_company.py`** with website and stage.
5. Add funding context to company notes (date, round, source link).
6. Find contacts and roles only after company passes fit filter.

## Do not

- Add companies based on funding amount alone
- Treat press release language as technical depth
- Scrape paywalled or private data
