Dino Wars: An Exploration of Dinosaurs

## Introduction
Dinosaurs were a diverse group of reptiles that lived during the Mesozoic Era, which spanned from about 252 to 66 million years ago. They dominated Earth's ecosystems for over 160 million years.

## Evolution and Classification
Dinosaurs are classified into two major groups: Saurischia (lizard-hipped) and Ornithischia (bird-hipped). Saurischia includes the massive Sauropodomorpha and theropods, while Ornithischia includes herbivores like Triceratops and Stegosaurus.

## The Three Eras
The Mesozoic Era is often referred to as the "Age of Reptiles," specifically the Age of Dinosaurs. It consists of three periods: Triassic, Jurassic, and Cretaceous.
- Triassic (252–201 mya): Early dinosaurs emerged and diversified.
- Jurassic (201–145 mya): Giant sauropods like Brachiosaurus flourished; tyrannosaurs evolved.
- Cretaceous (145–66 mya): The final era before the extinction event. Dinosaurs reached their peak diversity, including iconic species like T-Rex and Triceratops.

## Extinction Event
At the end of the Cretaceous Period, approximately 66 million years ago, a catastrophic asteroid impact is believed to have triggered global chaos. This led to climate changes that wiped out non-avian dinosaurs and many other plant- and animal-eating species.

## Legacy Today
Today, dinosaur bones are found in museums worldwide. Fossils provide critical insights into paleontology and the history of Earth's life.

Dinosaurs ruled the world long before humans walked it. Now, they live only in our memories.
